My Roots in This Community
I have proudly lived in Barnum Township for nearly 38 years. My husband and I raised our two children here, both graduates of Barnum High School who were actively involved in academics, arts, and athletics. As parents, we didn’t just support from the sidelines; we volunteered wherever we were needed.
Being involved in this community has always been important to me. You’ll often find me at local events, bingo games, golf tournaments, school activities, parades, and fundraisers for our volunteer fire departments and St. Jude. I regularly attend school board, city council, and community events because staying connected matters.
Outside of my work, I enjoy reading, walking, spending time at the lake, and most importantly, spending time with my family.

Fiscal Responsibility & Smart Budgeting
I am committed to keeping property taxes reasonable while ensuring we continue to provide essential services. That means making thoughtful, data-driven decisions, holding departments accountable, and finding efficiencies through technology and smart planning.
Mental Health & Social Services
Access to mental health services, especially for our youth, is one of the most pressing challenges we face. I am committed to expanding local resources, modernizing outdated systems, and supporting programs such as school-based therapy, trauma-informed care, and restorative justice practices.
Public Safety
Public safety is about more than enforcement; it’s about prevention, support, and long-term solutions. I support continued investment in jail programming, family-focused initiatives, and community-based services that reduce repeat offenses.

I believe in planning for the future. A comprehensive land use plan will help guide responsible growth over the next 20 years while aligning infrastructure and economic development.
Affordable housing remains a major need in our region. I am committed to working with local communities and developers to increase workforce housing, support economic growth, and strengthen our schools and businesses.

Before making major investments, we need to fully understand the scope, cost, and long-term impact. I support careful evaluation of county building projects to ensure they are necessary, financially responsible, and beneficial for our community.

Re-elected County Commissioner
Currently participate in over 24 committees, remain an active member of the Association for Minnesota Counties—including the Transportation Subcommittee and Education and Research Advisory Council.
October – December 2021
Centre for Public Impact
Participated in the Carlton County Cohort for six weeks, working collaboratively to improve the positive impact of local governments. The program’s goal was to learn, exchange ideas, and inspire each other to strengthen the public impact of government work

Special Education Teacher and Coordinator for the Northern Lights Special Education Cooperative
Actively participated on 19 committees, was an active member of the Association for Minnesota Counties (AMC), including service on the Transportation Subcommittee and Education Committee.
